Penetration Camp

(harsh death industrial/ dark ambient sound scapes)

Based in Puget Sound, Penetration Camp creates sonic sculptures utilizing homemade instrumentation as well as both conventional and non-conventional sound sources. The results range from sublime multi-layered soundscapes to ferocious audio assaults. Unlike many “noise” or “experimental” acts, Penetration Camp does not utilize laptops and eschews programming, not because such tactics are beneath them – but because both members are too stupid to deal with computers for anything other than viewing pornography (this webpage wouldn’t even exist if were not for the supremely talented and terribly sexy folks at Backwards Records NW). Instead, this duo improvise sets by drawing sounds out of self-made and modified devices as well as using samples and other audio sources to fill out their performances. Musical influences range from pop and punk to harsh-noise and drone, and Penetration Camp’s output fluctuates accordingly. Penetration Camp’s live sound tends toward the harsher side of noise, but instead of issuing an abrasive set of 10 minutes of white noise, the band creates full and varied sets of everything from sound collages to ritualistic death-industrial.
The band has three full-length albums as well as assorted compilation and other releases. (for more info see releases page)
